Materials

When the difference makes all the difference………

In the studio—a few of our Italian made materials for our NYC made bags.

The skinny on the skins……

Every season Gida travels to Italy to meet with her leather and hardware representatives to source the best of the season’s trends without compromising on quality. All skins are “full grain” skins sourced from leading tanneries. This is the best grade of leather and is the most durable and beautiful—from supple goatskins to buttery nappa lambskins. A handbag is only as beautiful as the skin it’s in.

Gida Bavari only sources leather that is a by-product of the food industry. Gida will never work with reptile or other leathers that are sourced solely for their skin.

Not just “as good as gold”…….it is gold.

Hardware used on Gida Bavari bags are sourced from Italy, Japan, and United States. Only top quality hardware is customized and sourced using various metal bases including brass, nickel, and zinc blends, for high-quality, light-weight yet strong and polished pieces. Real 23-kt gold is used in our electroplating process, and all hardware is finished in a professional clear lacquer to protect the plating.

Lining matters.

Linings on Gida Bavari collections vary in color and material, but are usually made of 100 percent cotton or satin blends. Each bag looks beautiful inside and out.
